Agusti Puig’s work can be seen throughout the new Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina
Barcelona which premeired at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival
in May. The cast included Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johannason and Rebecca Hall. The film
is about two American women -
Johansson and Hall - who spend the summer in Barcelona and are each seduced by painter Bardem.
Agusti was contacted by Mr Allen’s staff and his work was chosen to be featured
in the film; there were over 100 paintings in addition to
various items from his atelier on set. Agusti had the pleasure of meeting many cast members including
Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, whom
he taught how to make the motions like they were the ones creating Agusti’s paintings.
